Your mom didn’t mean to, like, point out that the guy in the story was a Chinese man. It just seemed kinda relevant! She wasn’t even saying anything bad about him, so what do you care!

Clearly today’s casual racists are working with a whole set of stereotypes that the rest of us don’t know about. I’ve tried to pick out a few of them, all positive, which seem perfectly innocuous if you don’t squint too hard to see the obvious underlying prejudices.

Based on a quote from Cole Stryker.

two problems: Asains are the most gossipy race i’ve ever met, and the Jew one is hilariously racist. saying they let other people know about good deals still makes them out to be incredibly tight fisted.

Nobody is flooding and “integrating” black
nations and ONLY black nations with non-blacks and calling native blacks evil
racists for opposing their replacement. This is happening in white nations and
ONLY in white nations. They say they are antiracist. What they are is
antiwhite. Antiracist is a code word for antiwhite.

“Nobody is flooding and “integrating” black
      nations”
This already happened, it’s called the 19th century. I realize you’re an antebellum troglodyte who just crawled out of a cave, but do try to keep up.

So you’re saying apartheid and Afrikaans never happened?

There was this quote about short memories and history that I can’t quite remember…

It’s the intelligent discourse that really inspires us to keep the Slacktory comments open to all.

Remember how the USA is on land that was once hundreds of Native nations?  Guess who used to own Australia? Look at South Africa, as others have already pointed out.  I imagine you would be hard pressed to name the few countries on the planet that have not been dominated and exploited by European peoples.  Admittedly, these days we are much more likely to simply export our cultures and values rather than actually colonize nations, but the concept is essentially the same.

This is still stereotyping, and it’s still bad, even if the stereotype happens to be something nice.

  • Joedingo

There is a problem with the Na’vi stereotype. They actually are quite hostile towards potential customers even vocally stating “You should not be here!” I was repulsed and will take my business elsewhere.

Condescending crap like this makes my head hurt. I am SO sick politically correct stuff being shoved down my throat as if I’m some idiot that needs right and wrong explained to me on a daily basis. Enough already.

  • Yes

I think Na’Vi’s stereotype should be under Indians
