Don’t make things out of other things just because you can.

Obviously “how-to” video host Brit Morin isn’t actually too poor to buy a jump rope, because she wasn’t too poor to buy $426 worth of exercise equipment. But I think a normal person would maybe check Amazon to see if jump ropes are cheaper than a pair of Mac extension cords. (They are.) They would do that before planning, executing and broadcasting a video teaching people how to cut two cords to make a jump rope that will eventually break in the middle. They would maybe find a cheaper piece of string lying around the house.

Next week she’ll make trivets out of iMacs.
