Casey Anthony Acquitted by Jury, Sentenced by Internet

Casey Anthony was acquitted of all major crimes surrounding the death of her daughter Caylee, but many Americans are unhappy about the verdict. In 1992 LA rioted after officers were acquitted for beating Rodney King, but its unlikely that this will occur today because Americans concerned with this case are too busy watching Nancy Grace to turn over police cars and loot stores in their neighborhoods. Luckily they can lodge their discontent from the comfort of their sofas.

More than 770,000 people have liked the Facebook page “Fuck Casey Anthony” over the course of the trial. There are hundreds of pages dedicated to the nuances of hating Casey Anthony. Pages pointing out her “bacne”, obsessing over hitting her in the face with a metal pole, or simply calling her a Slut Extraordinaire (French for “extraordinary slut”). One Facebook page calls Casey Anthony Public Enemy #1. I’m sure that elusive al-Qaeda terrorist Aiman al-Zawahiri is a little embarrassed that he’s been pushed down a notch by the “tot mom.” The fair-minded people at Casey Anthony is a dumb bitch did not think the sentencing was harsh enough so they took to their polls.

  2. Jessi Slaughter and her father

In the Real World, the Jessi Slaughter Story Isn’t Really Funny

The Smoking Gun has kicked up the 4chan coverage this year. Mostly it’s been kiddie porn stories, but in March they reported the arrest of Jessi Slaughter’s father Gene Leonhardt for hitting Jessi, and now they’ve followed up with more police records on the family. It’s not fun. Not fun at all.

Slaughter is the infamous webcam star who was massively harassed by users from 4chan and elsewhere last year (she was 11 years old) after she posted provocative videos. In a later video, her dad yelled that her harassers had “done goofed” and that he’d called the “cyberpolice.”

The major takeaway for most of us non-4channers was “Ha ha, this man knows nothing of the internet!” But these police records show a real dysfunctional family and a daughter with a serious problem.

Other Contraband the Cops Should Use on YouTube

The NYPD piled up its haul of confiscated illegal fireworks a few days before Independence Day and lit them all in a firing range. The result, which the New York Times uploaded on YouTube, is an orgy of smoke that ultimately disappoints, like turning on all-weapons, no-clip and god mode on Doom.

Shooting off contraband on video is a great idea, it just needs cooler applications.
